Welcome to the new LainiRisto.com and the release of my new song & video, “I’ll Be Here For You”!

“I’ll Be Here For You” describes the strength of real unending love. Maybe it’s a mother’s love, a brother’s or sister’s love, the love of a spouse, best friend or even the love of a greater being, call it God, the universe, etc. I began co-writing this song in 2006 with my long time music friend Jim Fischer. We had been asked to submit a song for an independent film about love that always “hangs in there “. Even though it wasn’t chosen, I had a very strong feeling about this song and knew there was some reason for it to be written.

Four years later, my friend Talbot Snow, who had been key in writing and producing this song, really felt we could create a heartfelt patriotic video to present it’s message. I have several friends who fought in Viet Nam, the Gulf war, Iraq and Afghanistan. Some are currently still stationed there. After listening to their experiences it became clear to me how they rely on the love of family and friends to get them through some of the most tedious and horrific moments. Many of them are in places they never dreamed they would see, doing a tough job simply because they have been ordered to be there. There isn’t a day that goes by without thinking about their loved ones who are living in a safer place. Their constant hope is that they will see them again soon. Even in the most dangerous situations, enduring love from home gives them hope to see another day.

Unconditional love doesn’t care about religion or politics, war or peace.

These are “our” people who deserve our loving support no matter what, because in real time… they are there on the ground putting their lives in danger until they can come home.

Hello, my dear friend! What a beautiful, heart-felt creation that speaks to the timeless, transcendent power of love!
I remember hearing this song back when you guys wrote it. I loved it then, and hearing it now, seeing the video, well, I’m blown away.
It’s like the song grew into the purpose it was born for, with the three of you nurturing it and allowing it to find it’s way into the project/dedication/gift is has now become, in perfect timing.
    Love you, Laini!

Kathy, it means so much to me to read your comment. Especially since you listened to the song since it’s beginnings. It did grow up as we worked on the video, and the song had several mixes until we felt it’s clarity and power.
    Love you too,
